How to compost your shipping bag
Share
Congratulations on taking the first step to a better nights sleep!
At this point you've done your research on how much better your day can be if you improve your night, you've thought long and hard about if you really should upgrade (maybe even loosing some sleep over it), you've realized you ARE worth the investment, placed an order through our fast and easy checkout and finally have received your package in the mail.
You notice right away that this packaging looks a little different - it's compostable?
Now you're wondering, "how DO I compost it?"
Well this guide is here to help get your shipping bag to the right spot so it can break down and return to the earth it came from.
Follow these simple steps in order to properly dispose of your bag:
1. Remove any anything that doesn't belong in the compost eg. plastic labels, tape, etc
2. If you have a backyard compost system, chuck it right on top of your pile! If you do not, chuck it in your municipal compost bin for pickup. If you don't have compost pickup in your home town, speak with your local council and get one going!
3. That's it!
How long will it take to decompose?
To be certified home compostable, a product must break down in home compost within 180 days and 90 days in commercial composting conditions. That means there's a limited lifespan for these bags however that's great news for your garden.
There's a lot of steps involved and its hard to follow along, do you have something I can watch instead?
