We would rather be specific than say "eco-friendly" and leave you guessing.

• Brush heads: bamboo body with castor-seed-oil (nylon 1010) bristles. Made in Montreal.
• Travel case: bamboo.
• Handle: a durable moulded ABS body built to outlast the heads by years. It is not bamboo, but it does look like bamboo. It is designed and sold by a Canadian company, and manufactured overseas.
• Bristles are not compostable and brush heads are not accepted in curb side recycling unless specifically stated by your municipality. Follow local guide lines.

The point of the system is that you replace a small head every few months instead of throwing out a whole brush. That is the waste it actually saves.

How to get the best clean

1. Apply a pea-sized amount of toothpaste.
2. Hold the bristles at a gentle 45 degree angle toward the gumline.
3. Let the brush do the work, move slowly tooth to tooth instead of scrubbing.
4. Brush for two minutes, 30 seconds per quadrant. Our toothbrush has an automatic 30 second timer you will feel.
5. Rinse the head and let it air-dry upright.

How often do I replace the head?

About every three months, or sooner if the bristles start to splay. Fresh bristles clean better and feel gentler.

Will the heads fit my Philips Sonicare?

Yes. Our replacement heads are designed to fit Philips Sonicare handles as well as ours. Vearthy is not affiliated with or endorsed by Philips.

Is it alright for sensitive gums?

Yes. Most people find sonic brushing gentler because you do not need to press. Use light pressure and let the brush work. If you have a specific dental concern, follow your dentist's advice.
